Denise Brucker
In today’s
economy, employers may be faced with the difficult task of
cutting costs. Ms. Brucker will discuss how to effectively
manage cost cutting measures including:
- Managing
the attendant legal risk of cutting labor costs.
- Practical advice on freezing or reducing wages, working
time and discretionary benefits; using flexible scheduling,
on-call work, and independent contractors; implementing new
performance or productivity standards; limiting expenses for
mileage reimbursements, training costs, and visa
sponsorship; terminating individual employment contracts;
implementing work furloughs/forced vacation; changing
commission or bonus plans; managing employee leaves of
absence during work slow-downs.
A 15 minute
legal wage and hour update will also be presented
