- Practical advice on freezing or reducing wages, working time and discretionary benefits; using flexible scheduling, on-call work, and independent contractors; implementing new performance or productivity standards; limiting expenses for mileage reimbursements, training costs, and visa sponsorship; terminating individual employment contracts; implementing work furloughs/forced vacation; changing commission or bonus plans; managing employee leaves of absence during work slow-downs.
