Jan. 22, 2018 PPSC welcomes Phil Simpler

Phil Simpler represents public and private employers in all areas of labor and employment litigation, including wrongful termination, defamation, harassment, discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, wage and hour class actions, and PAGA cases. He has experience in all aspects of litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, including as a part of a trial team for a school district in San Diego that favorably achieved a complete defense verdict after a three week jury trial. He is a passionate advocate for employers, with an emphasis on dispositive motion work and finding creative ways to achieve favorable outcomes early in litigation. Phil also counsels a wide range of employers on all aspects of their daily employment practices and other developments in the legal landscape.

Before joining the firm, Phil was an associate with the law firm TencerSherman LLP, where he represented employers and public school districts in employment matters and other litigation areas. Phil is active in the San Diego legal community. As a member of the Executive Committee of the New Lawyer Forum of the San Diego County Bar Association, Phil organizes an annual school-supplies drive on behalf of the SDCBA to benefit a local charity. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning legal publication “For the Record.”
